SATURDAY NIGHT...MARCH 29th
Like every new mother I had an emotional breakdown Saturday night. It wasn't my first and definately won't be my last. Hannah was looking jaundiced and I of course panicked. We called the on call pediatrician and she told us to go to an after hours clinic because it would atleast give us peace of mind. So around 7:30pm we take her to two different after hours clinics and neither one check Bilirubin levels. However, the PA looked at her and helped put our minds at ease that she would be okay until our pediatrician appointment Monday morning. The PA also informed us we need to be feeding her more than we are...we had no idea we were just following the hospitals instructions. So then of course I continue my breakdown because I feel like I've been starving my baby. Haley and one of our friends, Amanda, came over and helped calm me down. They both have 9 month old babies and have been exactly where I am. It was nice to have people tell you that you are not starving your baby and you are not crazy. Haley spent the night to help me out and let Jeremy and I get some sleep. Hannah really enjoyed her slumber party with her Aunt Haley. Sisters are just as great as mothers!
SUNDAY NIGHT...MARCH 30th
Three nights in a row of drama. Tonight was the night of Tornadoes and Hannah actually decided she didn't completely hate her bassinet. She was sleeping and behaving...then around 2:00am (not sure the exact time) the tornado sirens started going off. After turning on the TV, I saw that the path of the tornado was only 3 miles away from our house. I started running through the house gathering all of the necessities we need in our bathroom to survive a tornado. This included a flashlight, battery powered radio, candles, matches, blankets, pillows, rain jacket, tennis shoes, fully stocked diaper bag, carseat, etc... The storm passed and we were fine...just a little nerve wracking and it was a little hard to sleep after that.
MONDAY...MARCH 31st
This morning was Hannah's first appointment with her pediatrician. The doctor said she looked great and the jaundice wasn't anything for us to worry about. When we left the hospital on Friday she weighed 5 lbs and 1 oz and at her appointment she weighed 5 lbs and 4.5 oz. We were really excited about her weight gain...further proof I am not starving my baby :) Here are some pics of Hannah and her daddy at the doctor's office today.
After her appointment she pretty much just slept the rest of the day.
TUESDAY...APRIL 1st
Nothing really eventful today. Just a lot of sleeping and pooping...Hannah not me. Hannah did spend some quality time with her daddy and our 2 year old daughter...Elli :) Elli ignores her most of the time and isn't too interested in her yet.
Hannah just wanted to hold hands with her daddy.
Finally a picture with mommy. These are the first pictures we have had together since she has been home...because (1) I'm the one always taking the pics and (2) I actually fixed my hair today and put on some makeup for the first time since we have been home.
WEDNESDAY...APRIL 2nd...TODAY...One Week Old
Last night was a really good night. She woke up periodically for feedings but other than that she slept really well. I was excited because she slept from 5:30am to 11:00am and only woke up at 7:30 to be fed. So this is the first time I have slept 3 hours in a row!!! Aunt Misty (Jeremy's sister) came over today and held Hannah for a couple of hours which was awesome. We were actually able to get some stuff done. It is nice to have family that lives so close. Emotional breakdown count...none since Sunday night!!!
